Safety Counts. Children should be 4'9" tall, 80 lbs, or 8 years old before they can buckle up and skip the seat. -Arrive Alive

No booster seat is just as dangerous

Many parents are unaware of the importance of proper use and installation of child passenger safety restraints and related laws.  In 2016, 18 children less than eight years of age were killed and 47 suffered serious injuries as occupants in a motor vehicle crash in Missouri.  Twenty-nine percent of the children killed or seriously injured were not restrained in a car seat or safety belt.

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old in the United States.

The Pevely Police Department in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Transportation will participate in the Child Passenger Safety Enforcement Campaign beginning September 17th through September 23rd.
