The City has
kept pace with growth in the area by
upgrading water and sewer facilities,
improving local traffic arteries and
implementing a comprehensive plan to
insure that the City develops in an
orderly fashion. New and planned
residential communities offer a wide
selection of affordable quality home
sites and apartment living. City parks
provide shelter and space for family
outings, playground equipment for the
children and fields and courts for
athletic activities. Each September, the
Pevely Parks and Recreation Board hosts
the "Fall Festival," a time for
residents to come together for a weekend
of celebration and entertainment. The
fun includes activities such as
pie-backing contest, fireworks display,
crafts, and local and big-named
entertainment. In general, Pevely
preserves a pleasant small town
atmosphere for the family both young and
old; and yet our location allows one to
easily experience the many possibilities
"just up the road" in the St. Louis
metropolitan area.
In addition to
public safety and utility services, the
City provides some basic needs to
enhance a resident's quality of life and
preserve the property values of the
community. Solid waste removal is
coordinated through a private hauling
service and billed by the City.
Additionally, the City sponsors an
annual bulk-item pick up and curbside
chipping of tree limbs in the fall and
spring. Full-time animal and pest
control operations are provided to
include an active mosquito control
program in the summer. When winter
arrives, the Pevely Street Department is
poised and ready to effectively handle
the snow and sleet. Citizens can also
rely on a vigilant zoning and code
enforcement program to insure their real
estate investment is protected.
