Citizens of
Pevely rest assured with the knowledge
that a well-trained cadre of policemen,
firefighters and EMTs are there to meet
their public safety needs. With regard
to police protection, the professional
law enforcement operation of the City is
organized to encompass an acute
sensitivity to community desires and a
willingness to serve the City in a
variety of ways. The
Pevely
Police Department consists of
fourteen full-time professional police
officers trained and certified through
the Missouri Department of Public
Safety. Officers are supported and
assisted by ten reservists and five
full-time police dispatchers.
Dispatchers handle all calls for
emergency service within the City and a
neighboring community, including 911
calls through the City's enhanced 911
system.
Fire protection
is provided through the Dunklin Fire
Protection District whose main fire
station lies within Pevely's City
Limits. The district has a chief, a fire
marshal, three full-time firefighters
and twenty-three volunteers. Currently
the city has a class 6 ISO insurance
rating and anticipates a lower
designation in the near future.
Ambulance
service is provided through a district,
which also maintains a modern station
within the City Limits of Pevely. The
Station is manned and equipped 24 hours
a day and Citizens can expect prompt
response to all points within the City's
corporate boundary. In addition to the
foregoing public safety services, the
City has in place a state-of-the-art
early warning system with digital voice
messaging to alert and warn the public
in advance of impending storms and other
emergency situations.
