Pevely is a fourth-class city with a governing body composed of a Mayor and six Aldermen who establish policy and handle the major decision-making responsibilities for the community. The City is divided into three wards with two Aldermen in each ward serving 2 year terms with at least one up for election each April. The Mayor is elected at large for a two year term and is vested with supervisory control of the day-to-day affairs of the City and its appointed officials. The Mayor and the Board hold regular meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, and the public is invited to attend. Public hearings precede a regularly scheduled meeting.
